SHOCKER: Porsche’s Mission E Looks Stunning With The Covers Pulled Back

Just kidding, we always knew it’d be awesome in real-life. With automakers, model reveals always come in two parts. First there’s the pre-release, a day or two before the real deal. It gets the world excited with slick concept images, like Porsche did with its Mission E electric sedan. The official debut can then be a bit underwhelming, since drawings usually look better than early stage concepts. Fortunately for us – and unfortunately for Tesla and others that make EVs – Porsche didn’t skip a beat when it pulled the covers off the Mission E at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The electric four-door is attracting plenty of attention at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, and why shouldn’t it? It gets to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds and has a stated range of 312 miles. Porsche is apparently serious about EVs in its future and if this first go is any indication they’ll be damn slick, just like everything else the German automaker creates. Yes, the inside is a bit Spartan, there are no mirrors, those doors would never fly in real life, etc… but if put up for pre-sale in this incarnation the Mission E would likely sell out in minutes. Check out these live shots from Frankfurt and let us know in the comments if you’re drinking the Kool-Aid.
